So your not a size 0 but are still confidant, comfortable in your skin, and love to show off your sexy self…So why is it so hard to find something frilly if your over a size 10?
It drives me crazy looking at the majority of plus size options ( be it socks, undies, or clothes in general) and seeing how bland they are.
NO thank you… I don’t want to wear a brown sack.. I want to look as cute and bubbly as I feel. I worked hard eating all those delectable chocolates to get my shape this delightfully round and womanly and gosh darn it I want to be able to dress fashionably or sexy and not have to cram myself into a small size and look ridiculous to do that….
…..And in steps Sock Dreams decking out my legs from tiny toes to large lush thighs in an array of fun, sporty, and/or sexy socks and stockings…and now garter belts!!!!!!
All the other garter belts I have tried always dug in and gave me the “bulgies” but these new ones Niq just got in are wonderful. The undies are a little teeny and did dig in a bit but the garter itself is fantastic and adjusted wider than I needed ( in all the glory of my 45 inch hips- mind you my waist is only 36 and the garter sat somewhere inbetween).
Wear these for that special someone or just underneath any outfit to make you feel like a secret hottie all day while keeping your snazzy socks or stockings in place. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the array of other items we will be offering in lovely larger sizes.

let’s make this……
…………an even 60!!!
to sum up Dawn’s point in a word… Confidence
It’s just been great reading through all the posts here! It’s so lovely to finally hear women speaking up who don’t care about what they ‘should’ look like but are happy with themselves. I’m one of the ‘skinny’ people who’s always felt a little less confident thanks to a 32 A/B bust…coming to somewhere like Sock Dreams where personality clearly counts more than body shape is just so great!
Yay!!!!!! All these hot sock grrls!
wow, check it all out! i don’t wanna post after this, that’s for sure! and YES, i HATE the “you’re so skinny” looks. it’s difficult to get ppl to understand that although i am, for the most part, slender, it’s proportional to my height and therefore creates stupid issues with clothing sizes just like their own stupid issues! i finally found a female friend in town who will shop with me, which is excellent! before, i had to deal with the “fuck yous” whenever i wanted to check out the little girl or little boy’s section for shirts (dude, if you’re small enough up top, XL garanimals are the shiznit @ $3 a pop!), or the girls that WERE okay with my size were the ones who only wanted to shop at …um…let’s say “conservative” stores. but no matter what your size or fashion orientation, you shouldn’t have to have ppl deprecating you for it. i especially hate the girls who make jealous statements about my size, and then mock me for eating a salad for lunch, saying, “a salad ain’t a meal. Please! give me (insert incredibly unhealthy food here).” it’s all i can do to keep my mouth shut. mind you, i eat all kinds of crap, but i don’t go making bitchy comments at girls thinner than i am who eat more healthily. anywho, we’re all tangent-y today! moral of this story: we’re all different and most of the clothing manufacturers can’t figure it out and we love ourselves anyway (despite the occasional tearful day of shopping)!
and ONE MORE THING: how great are your pics Xilia that they brought so much love and peace and comfort to all of us……and hell you are just SEXY AZZZZ!
“Glory” is the right word. Gloriously done!
yes, yes it is, a record for sure! and who wants to post after this? this is going to be one tough post to follow ~;)
I am 33 and still get the whole “skinny” thing from ppl….it astounds me how complete strangers (as well as ppl who are “supposed” to be friends) feel no problem calling you anorexic or making rude ignorant comments……i have just within about the last 2 years begun to become comfortable within my skin…..i think having a man who is so respectful and loving and supportive of me helped so much and broke me out of the whole abusive male and fake using “friends”….i may not go out a lot anymore or have tons of ppl calling me but i am finally happy and am beginning to really love myself…..and i must say this place makes me feel so happy any time (which is probably much too aften) i come here brings a smile to my inside and outside….I am sure the Sock Godess regrets the day she asked for the silent ones to post…..can’t shut me up now…..thanks for being there anytime day or night when i am lonely…..I LOVE YOU ALL!!!
I once worked with a lovely woman who referred to her size as Rubenesque, which I think sounds so nice. I lived in souther california in the 80s & early 90s and was a “slightly chubby” teenager with wavy brown hair at a time when none of those things were “cool” so I bleached my hair and wwweloped an eating disorder. Happily those days are long behind me (I am now thin due to a hyperactive metabolism wwweloped in my early 30s, doctors have never been able to find any cause for it). Some of my fav people in life have been curvacious and it always saddened me when they weren’t comfortable with that, as long as you are healthy you should be happy, regardless of your size or shape! even us scrawny girls ~:)
- Don’t worry all you scrawny cute little things… us bigger gals are not uniting to sit on you and crush you!!!!!We love you skinny maninis to!!!!!!! I rember back in my super skinny days (surgery changed all that for me and slowed my matablosim right down) having people say things like ” oh arn’t you skinny” while giving me a look that could kill made me super self conciouse….
My Dad just looked at this post and said “that’s Raphael not Botticelli” lol but he did think it was neat with the socks on them lol
lol I already did. he’s an artist, it’s hard to put those things past him lol
Sorry about that, I meant my waist was 28-30.
oh, man, xilia, look what you’ve started! i lucked out with the whole dress dilemma, mostly. i have a small bust and broad shoulders that i’m good at scrunching in, so though most of my dresses won’t come up over my hips, i can just drop them down over my head! oh, and babylon, same here on the not-shaving thing! so much less time-consuming (not to mention skin-irritating) to put on awesome cute socks!
doh..I mean small not short!! Although I am both >.< just rather curvy at the bust/hips
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!What IS up with the whole button up shirt/button gap/bra showing thingy??? I am convinced guys have come up with THAT one!!!!!!!!! I mean come on, just please have more buttons or something……and i am rather small chested (36B) and i feel so odd at work because we have to dress in button/collared shirts and i always feel like i am trying to show off something i aint got…….I hate the effect pinning gives…..I just think a shirt with lots of buttons down the front would look cute and be more functional….(i really need to take a sewing class so i can alter all my clothes)…
I go for the a-line and usually have em around knee or just above length with slits here or there that show flesh in the right places without flashing the masses well unless the stiching happens to fall out and you are walking around Seattle for the weekend with a skirt slit up to your crotch held together by saftey clips…. I got chatted up an awful lot that day… hmmmm ? -
That claflength style seems to be cropping up everywhere! I think it looks soooo cute! We have a few like that here at SD I have tested out and loved!
wow Xilia. You & your pictures are absolutely beautiful! Your words are very encourageing. Thankyou for being such an uplifting inspiration to all of us!
babylon, sounds like you and i must be built about the same! and yes, showing off the socks is a must, xilia, which is why i’ve started an uneprecedented (in my closet) collection of skirts!
I cut my favorite pair of jeans up and made them into a skirt!!!!! -
I’ve become a skirt person myself recently, I don’t have to worry about inseams! lol
yes, i long for 80′s style, bum-hugging minis for the very same reason! I like my just OTK skirts flared, but not my minis! makes you worry about every little breeze! same for shorts; they don’t make shorts that will sit low, fit hips, and fit bums and thighs, too. all the shorts now sit low, fit hips, and then flare at the leg openings, so you end up showing too much there, too! that’s part of why i love REALLY long socks so much; they can cover the bits that my skirts/shorts don’t always, without having to come up over my hips like pantyhose (or pull and snag like pantyhose).
ALLOY has jeans etc up to 37″ in length; although, i have never tried any of their stuff but somehow i got on the mailing list and get catalogs…..gosh, though going thru high school “back in the day” was rough with ALL the pants WAY TOO SHORT…..looking like a worse nerd than i was (am)…..
By far the best place I’ve ever found to buy pants if you have a booty is Victoria’s Secret. You can only get them from their catalogue or their webpage, but they have a TON of choices, and they even come in lengths!! Their pants are a little pricey, but they’re the best fit I’ve ever found, they come in the most colors, lengthes, and size selections…I’m in LOVE with their pants =D!!
ok…went to sleep with your image in my head….and woke up with the word BODACIOUS in my head…..just incredible pics…..and yes Victorias Secret has great jeans and long 34″ inseams which i love and if you check the clearance section you can find some good deals on styles now and then……LOVE the slim fit they have……
agreed! as for jeans, my best fit is the express sarula cut. and the editor. both in LONG. Mudd jeans don’t come in my size AND aren’t long enough, and applebottom jeans (in addition to not looking enough like “regular” jeans to me) aren’t long enough either. i’ll have to check out VS. What a great day for this discussion, as I plan on going jean shopping later today. lol. well, at least we all know that we can slip on a skirt and some luscious sock dreams apparel and have a great outfit with a quickness!
it’s funny…here are three women (counting myself) with about a ten-inch difference between waist and hips, and yet i struggle to find pants with more than a three-inch difference between low-waist and hips. stupid clothing companies. yay for sock dreams and other places that do the variety of forms justice!
Lady, you are hot. thanks for sharing.
You certainly make me feel better about myself. Since I’ve gained some weight I’ve been scared to go back to garter belts–maybe I’ll change my mind–and I love the new fashion accessories of the Botticelli Bottoms:)
WOW!!!! that black and white picture is beautiful….REALLY beautiful…..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!……..
Very nicely done and said Xilia… :O) Yay for sock dreams being curve friendly !!!
I agree! Kudos to sock dreams & Xilia!
grood job! Now the question is: were the garters functional in holding stockings up, or are they better for show?
Wonderful post. I’m so jealous. What’s the circumference of your hips, if you don’t mind me asking?
