It’s just been great reading through all the posts here! It’s so lovely to finally hear women speaking up who don’t care about what they ‘should’ look like but are happy with themselves. I’m one of the ‘skinny’ people who’s always felt a little less confident thanks to a 32 A/B bust…coming to somewhere like Sock Dreams where personality clearly counts more than body shape is just so great!

wow, check it all out! i don’t wanna post after this, that’s for sure! and YES, i HATE the “you’re so skinny” looks. it’s difficult to get ppl to understand that although i am, for the most part, slender, it’s proportional to my height and therefore creates stupid issues with clothing sizes just like their own stupid issues! i finally found a female friend in town who will shop with me, which is excellent! before, i had to deal with the “fuck yous” whenever i wanted to check out the little girl or little boy’s section for shirts (dude, if you’re small enough up top, XL garanimals are the shiznit @ $3 a pop!), or the girls that WERE okay with my size were the ones who only wanted to shop at …um…let’s say “conservative” stores. but no matter what your size or fashion orientation, you shouldn’t have to have ppl deprecating you for it. i especially hate the girls who make jealous statements about my size, and then mock me for eating a salad for lunch, saying, “a salad ain’t a meal. Please! give me (insert incredibly unhealthy food here).” it’s all i can do to keep my mouth shut. mind you, i eat all kinds of crap, but i don’t go making bitchy comments at girls thinner than i am who eat more healthily. anywho, we’re all tangent-y today! moral of this story: we’re all different and most of the clothing manufacturers can’t figure it out and we love ourselves anyway (despite the occasional tearful day of shopping)!

I am 33 and still get the whole “skinny” thing from ppl….it astounds me how complete strangers (as well as ppl who are “supposed” to be friends) feel no problem calling you anorexic or making rude ignorant comments……i have just within about the last 2 years begun to become comfortable within my skin…..i think having a man who is so respectful and loving and supportive of me helped so much and broke me out of the whole abusive male and fake using “friends”….i may not go out a lot anymore or have tons of ppl calling me but i am finally happy and am beginning to really love myself…..and i must say this place makes me feel so happy any time (which is probably much too aften) i come here brings a smile to my inside and outside….I am sure the Sock Godess regrets the day she asked for the silent ones to post…..can’t shut me up now…..thanks for being there anytime day or night when i am lonely…..I LOVE YOU ALL!!!
