« Would you like that in Orange? | Streamlining »

O for Over-the-knee… that area that can create so much havoc in the sock world.
Depending on both width & height (of both the socks AND your legs, never mind stretch of said socks) an OTK can end up fitting anywhere from just below the knees to right up around your thighs. Why, we even find that can differ from one color or batch to the next of the very same style (it can be enough to drive sock sellers mad!) but we love them and continue to pursue ever better OTK Socks and our Dream Stockings classic is the O Basic.
Basic because it is a basic cotton sock that goes over your knees, most of your knees that is. This line evolved into many variations that are among our all time favorite socks: O Chevrons (a style we see copied every where now) O Dreamies (my alltime fav …we WILL find a replacement that lives up to the dream!), O Lovelies (crochet-like, all I could think when I first saw them was how lovely they are), O Marled (thick & scrumptious & sure to keep coming back), O Pastels (now merged with our O Basics), O Yummies (deliciously textured, terribly missed), O Tie Dyed (fantastically tie-dyed basics, each and every one is unique), O Woolies (oh so warm, more coming this fall), and now… O Rayons!

Made just for us, just like the rest of our Dream Stockings, by a small family run mill in the USA. These are silky soft in shimmery, brilliant colors (hoping more colors are coming too!). The stretch is great, they came up over all our knees, and look good worn high or scrunched down. I barely want to take mine off, they are so comfy! I used to fear rayon clothing because it always needed to be dry cleaned. But not these! I threw them in the wash with my sheets in warm water, followed by a tumble in the warm dryer and they still fit and look fabulous!

Sock Inspector Lola fears there won’t be enough to go around, but we have plenty, for now…

12 soxy thoughts:
My favorite pair has wwweloped a hole (darn nail) and now I wish I knew how to darn socks. That lost art. I don’t want to stop wearing them. What to do?
We’re working on a darning page, or at least, have talked about it & will be adding it soonish…
Ooooh , new socks to try! Btw, any idea on when you might get some restocks on some of the O Basic colors? (denim, in particular!)
Inspector Lola…how cute is SHE! LOVE this new sock, Niq! I can’t wait to try ‘em!
Sheila: We’ve got ‘em on order, no word yet about when we’ll be seeing them but hopefully soon! O Basics are ever so hard to keep in stock.

I’ve just received word that these are coming in BLUEBERRY!!! this option was not among the yarn samples we saw before creating these and remain a mystery of actual shade/tone til we see them, but I believe this is a good Omen of things to come and am now wearing my blueberry O Yummies in further effort to appease the sock gods =)
BLUEBERRY! Yaaaay! My O Yummies died, so that would be fantastic!
Thank you Amanda! I know, everything I like seems to be ever so popular.

Blueberry sounds scrumptious! Also, cant wait for black/black longer o chevrons to be back in stock. And do you think cotton inklined knee highs might ever come in all black. (the cotton inklined knee highs are one of my all time fav socks – the whites were the best knee high white sock ever – i thought anyway). i didnt realize the oyummies were no more
the blueberry was a most gorgeous color. so nice to know it will be reappearing in another form.
Q: are these o rayons slim fitting to the leg or loose fit?
Oh, *rayon*, oh yes, I simply *MUST* have these. I am excited to see what new colors will come!
I still have my O Yummies! In Pomegranate and Carrot, if I didn’t gift the Carrot to a friend of mine. (Haha, that just tells you how long it’s been since I’ve worn them. But it’s been rather cold, so I’ve been wearing almost nothing but wool for the past I don’t even know how many months.)And, on rayon: I put all of my rayon clothes through the washer and dryer. Never had any problems. I did some researching regarding laundering certain fibers and found that rayon should survive just fine through delicate cycles and through the dryer. (I don’t think my dryer gets super hot, probably not as hot as most in a laundromat, so maybe hotter dryers do cause some damage?)
I miss the O Yummies! I have a pair in orange and the toes and heels are falling apart but I refuse to toss them.
I have yet to find an orange sock with such a nice colour and texture.
I just got my order, and I’d like to say you guys are great. I didn’t expect my order to get here so fast. And the Marathon symbol on my invoice was a nice touch

Niqkita, I recently bought a pair of grey Super M’s, and have LOVED them!! ( I know, it’s odd to have a guy say this, but I LOVE ‘EM!!!!!! They feel SO sexy!) anyway, as with any sock that is that incredibly long they keep falling down. So, I’ll start out my work day and they’ll be at my inner thighs but by the end of the work day they’ll be bunched around my mid-calves/ ankles. And aside from trying to encourage a huge sweat to create adheasion, do you know of any tricks to get them to stay up longer? (by the way, I work construction, sweating will occur naturally, but not all that heavily) Any advice would be apprecaited!
-Chris
P.S. They are much more significantly looser in the thigh than my older OTK Tube socks (which barely go over the knee) and my much older N40′s. The older pairs would stay a little longer, but I simply procrastinated asking you since I fear I already know the answer (none or wear a Garter).
