If you’ve picked up a pair of Sweet Marcel socks before, you may have noticed the vintage-style giant safety pin they used as a hanger. We love touches like this, and were worried at first when we heard that the pins weren’t going to be available anymore.
But we shouldn’t have worried, because as soon as they showed us the new hangers, we realised that Sweet Marcel was going to be even sweeter!
Teeny hangers! I don’t know about you, but if you make something littler I am going to love it more. I just want to hang all my socks on little hangers now, in a tiny closet (well, actually it’d have to still be a big closet, I have a lot of socks!).
More sweet Sweet Marcel love after the jump!
Attention to details like this is what makes Sweet Marcel such a wonderful brand. Last season’s Sweet Marcel styles even have a little logo patch on the cuff.
Not that the latest styles are lacking in detail or style (and some folks don’t like obvious logos). I love the rich floral styles and colour in Sweet Marcel’s latest designs. And the Wisteria & Xena are not only designed by a Project Runway contestant, they’re the only style we have left with the giant safety pin hangers. So they’re two kinds of an awesome find!
Have you owned a pair of Sweet Marcels? What did you think? Do you love them for their cuff or their designs? How about the high cotton content? Did you know that most of the designs make awesome knee highs for longer or curvier legs?

I own most of the Sweet Marcel socks, and I LOVE them so much! Their fabric content is excellent, and when I first get them they go up my long legs pretty dang far (about mid-thigh). I’m sad that they shrink so much in the wash, but they’re still rockin’ even when they’re smaller, since we all know they’re totally about the wonderful patterns!
poo! i didnt get a pin with the duo: wisteria/xena – i thought they didnt have it maybe because there were two.
i did get the sweet hanger with Nikita’s – it is adorable – – and i DID immediately hang it in my closet from one of my big hangers against a pretty lace dress.
these socks are so very special and beautiful!!
Oh, but making small things bigger is fun too! *loves the giant pin* 😀
I only have the Victoria so far, and they are BEAUTIFUL, soft, and stay up quite well = ♥
I love wearing them with knee-high black boots because I kind of get the effect of white flowers growing up from flower pots. The flower pots are my boots. Um. This would probably make a lot more sense with a photo… or try it at home! 😀
Achyvi —I’m sorry to hear they shrink so much in the wash! Even when you line dry them? But yes, they are really all about the patterns. I would love a dress that was like the Sophia.
Raubynn —Oh no! You might have received a pair that snuck through when we were adding and redistributing the new hangers on the latest batch. 🙁 Sneaky socks!
Miss Musaranha—Oh my goodness, I totally picture what you’re talking about! Oooh, you are going to love some of the new items in our queue.
Oh, you are just being a tease, now, Brenna! Haha, can’t wait to see them!
And I’m glad I made sense… It was probably paraphrasing Captain Hammer what did it ;D
Oh I’m not too much of a tease, the new flowered socks are right here!
I have about four pairs of the Sweet Marcels, and I had to add that the safety pins have multiple uses. My favorite would be using them to secure my hair in a bun. The effect was pretty cool!
The only complaint I have is that the first pair I put on snagged and tore as soon as I put them on. I haven’t tried on my other ones just yet, because I wouldn’t be able to take the disappointment if they all did that.
Oh no Gwen! That isn’t a problem the Sweet Marcels are prone to. Did you write us (firstname.lastname@example.org) and see if we could replace it? All the information about our returns policies is right here: http://www.sockdreams.com/info/returns/
That definitely sounds like a defect to me, but talk to our returns folks and they can suss out what happened.
Wow, they ARE pretty! I love them in Blues. ♥
