Automatic Magic
Sometimes we’re surprised to find out that a style we thought was going to be restocked is actually gone forever. It’s always a bummer and it’s even worse if you’re waiting for something to come back and you don’t know if it is really gone or you just can’t find it.
Worry no longer! We’ve added a feature to our Automated Notifications to help you out.
If you’ve selected to be notified when a style or variety is back in stock, but it turns out that item is no longer available, you’ll receive an email letting you know. We had been doing this ourselves, but now it can happen magically, I mean automatically.
So you’re not too sad, the emails will often even list options from the same categories as the deleted style! If you’ve been waiting for a particular colour or size that is no longer available, the email will list the colours or sizes that you can still order. Totally magic.
10 soxy thoughts:
You mean “automagically”, right?

Jeremie, yes exactly!

I don’t know of any other places that do this and wasn’t even sure we could. So glad we can!
sock dreams can come true…your auto notify works…those original eg slouch socks came back…
DM—Sadly, the EG Smith Bootsocks were made on machines that were well over a hundred years old and are difficult to get parts for when they break down. After over a year of experimenting E.G. Smith came out with a new version of their classic sock. We now carry it, the EG Smith Ribbed Bootsock (http://www.sockdreams.com/products/eg-smith-ribbed-bootsock).
They’re not quite the same as EG Smith’s Original Bootsock, these don’t slouch as much and their fiber blend is a little different (the Original had 99% cotton and as a result, didn’t stay up on average legs for anything). E.G. Smith, since they now offer the Ribbed Bootsock, do not plan on ever making their original Bootsock again.
We were able to get the last batch that E.G. Smith found of the Lightweight Bootsock (http://www.sockdreams.com/products/eg-smith-lightweight-boot-sock), which is a thinner version of their classic E.G. Smith, “Love Eric” socks.
on my recent trip to Seattle I was told there is still a chance they will be able to resurrect the original boot sock… I wouldn’t hold my breath, but will keep my toes crossed!
Oh goodness! Toes crossed for certain.

I was just feeling a bit sad as it seems all the purple/violet/plum thigh-highs with large feet options are sold out, but at least there is now this automagical option

Julianne—Aw, yeah, I think there is something nefarious going on with our favourite plum yarn, so there’s been a bit of a hold-up. But now the magical computers will ensure that you learn the same day we do that they’re back in stock!
