We offer FREE USPS shipping on all US orders!
This week we added a shiny new review system to our site and right away we started seeing the results. Not only can you post reviews, you can also ask a question right there on the product and get an answer by one of our Dreamer staff members (or even a knowledgeable shopper sometimes). And since those questions and answers stay right there with the style in question as time goes by we’ll get a good collection going and you might find your questions have already been answered… this is exciting for us because we see a lot of the same questions come here via email and this might save everyone time in the long run.
Everyone who has shopped with us in the past few months (and going forward) will get an email (with an opt-out option so we don’t bug you too much) asking for a review and linking you to the product’s page to make this easy on you. We’re not going to offer discounts or other incentives, that would be like buying your opinion and that doesn’t feel right. We want to know the truth, good or bad and will be right here responding as needed, usually within a day.
Thank you all for continuing to support this little dream of mine… I think it’s going to be a fantastic fall, if our feet are warm and happy it’s a lot easier to manage the stresses in this crazy busy world we all live in.
We’re adding customer reviews to our product pages along with a Question & Answer system! As of today, Monday, you can see the basic framework on our site, but we won’t have actual reviews up til later this week.
In the coming days the emails will start going out to people who have ordered in the past three months inviting you to add your reviews (we’ll wait til 21 days after your order was completed before the email goes out to give you time to actually try them). Then the submissions get checked for authenticity (and to make sure they meet the standard guidelines of decency) before going live.
This is all very exciting and just a little daunting (learning new things and adding tasks to our already busy days just as fall hits!) but mostly we are super excited about this latest development and look forward to making your sock shopping even easier and hassle free.
This weekend, September 21st and 22nd, Sock Dreams will be vending at Portland’s own Rose City Comic Con. Now in it’s second year, Rose City, or as it affectionately know as RCCC, will feature several amazing celebrity guests- Jewel Staite from Firefly, Avery Brooks from Deep Space Nine, Lee Arenberg and Martin Klebba from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies AND Mr. John “Bender” and “Jake the Dog” DiMaggio.
But of all the celebrity guests, comic artists and exhibitors, we are most excited about one guest in particular; the creator of the Sock Dreams logo, Echo X Chernik !
Niqkita was first made aware of Echo’s work through the Sock Dreams web designer Olivia, who knew Niqkita’s affinity for Alphonse Mucha and that she was looking for someone to design a logo for the fledgling company. Niqkita contacted Echo and they began emailing back and forth discussing what Niqkita had in mind for the logo and how it would fit into her business. Before she knew it, the logo lady was created.
The intention with the logo was always that her socks could be changed, but in the past couple years we’ve been radical about our changes, creating seasonal and event specific stickers and the word is, Echo loves it!
Come by our booth at RCCC, #720 to grab one of our Rose City Comic Con logo lady stickers, and then head to Echo’s booth #903 to get it signed.
We’ll also be giving away a pair of our con exclusive RCCC socks, made by Gumball Poodle, so if you’re at the Con this weekend check our Facebook page for more details.
See ya there!
With autumn nearly upon us, the time has come to batten down the hatches and start to winterize! Of course you’re going to want some cozy warm socks for the colder months ahead, and here at Sock Dreams we’re working on some big changes for our website that should make that process easier. Since changes of this magnitude take a lot of planning and time to accomplish we’re not expecting this to be ready til after the dust settles from the holidays, but today we’re offering a little sneak peek at what we’ve got in store…
In the interest of making our website more interactive, we’re going to be adding user reviews and product ratings. And, possibly, an option to sort reviews to show ones that are relevant to your preferences first (we haven’t worked out all of the details yet, but it sounds amazing!). Not only that, but we’re making it possible to ask product questions on the website where other shoppers can see and respond to them. That means that you’ll have a vastly larger pool of different body types to ask for sizing advice! You’ll also be able to look back at older questions and answers to see if the information you need has already been supplied.
These will be the first changes and might be up within a few weeks, at that time we’ll be sending out emails to people who have ordered in the past 90 days to review your purchases (of course we’ll offer you an opt out option when the time comes). Once user reviews and votes have had a chance to build up a little, we’re going to be adding a new product category to our website – customer favorites! There you’ll be able to find all of our most popular items in one place.
In addition to these great new tools, we’re going to be giving our front page an aesthetic overhaul. In the interest of an easier shopping experience, we’re going to be putting less of a focus on our Sock Journal and Latest News, and putting more of a focus on, well, the socks! Our special categories will be appearing on the front page, making them much easier to find. We’re also taking special care to put the contact information for our Customer Service team in a more prominent place, just in case you could use some help!
All of this is moving towards making our website accessible from all of your devices, including mobile phones as we find ourselves increasingly relying on them for everything and so do many of you according to statistics.
This week we’ve already made some updates to our wishlist feature. If you haven’t already noticed, it’s now possible to save your preferred choice of size to items on your wishlist. Let’s face it – sizing is the hardest part of buying clothing for other people, but now we have you covered! If you happen to be keeping a wishlist just to keep track of what you plan on buying for yourself, we’ve also added a total line, so you can have a goal in mind without breaking out a calculator!
With all of these exciting new changes around here, we would be remiss to forget to give credit to all of our fans and shoppers. Thank you for all of the suggestions and kind words over the years. We want to build your dream website, because our dream wouldn’t be possible without all of you!
