Will you be at Leaky Con in Portland this weekend? We’re there right now, and once again we’ve got Sock Dreams gift cards to give away to the first 6 witches and wizards to say the magic words at our booth!
Friday’s magic words are Wingardium Leviosa!
(Be sure to pronounce this spell correctly– you wouldn’t want to face Hermione’s scorn!)
Hop on your brooms and scoot over to booth #211 ASAP for your chance to win! The amount on the gift card could be $5, or it could be $10, or it could even be $20– it’ll be a surprise! We’ll also have a magical selection of our favorite styles to browse and buy, including Sorcerer Socks and some extra-special event-only stickers. (We MIGHT have some left over after this weekend, but we won’t make any promises!)
This year in Portland, we are fortunate to have the popular Harry Potter-themed convention, Leaky Con, descend upon our fair city. Named after the infamous pub in J.K. Rowling’s series, The Leaky Cauldron, the convention features actors, authors, fan fiction, music, and all things related to this century’s most famous wizard. But that’s not all! This year’s Leaky Con has expanded beyond just Harry Potter, and now features teen fiction in general. There will be several authors of note, including Lev Grossman, author of The Magicians, and Robin Wasserman, author of The Cold Awakening trilogy.
We will be at the convention for the next four days, June 27th- 30th, selling our tribute to the famous houses: our Sorcerer Socks! Our logo lady has dressed for the occasion as well; we have created four very special house stickers which will be available to con attendees this weekend and then (IF there are leftovers!) to the general public after. (We will announce sticker availability next week!)
If you’re in the Portland area this weekend for Leaky Con, please stop by booth 211 and say hello! If you’re interested in attending Leaky Con, it will be in Orlando next year, and in a new location the year after. Check their web site for updates!!!
Hey, all you Sock Dreams fans!!! This weekend, June 22nd & 23rd from 10am-6pm, we’re going to be at a convention that focuses on all things for the ladies: Ladies Day Out at the Oregon Convention Center! As we’re usually attending events with a geeky theme, this has allowed us to stretch our proverbial wings in terms of what we’re bringing for our customers. Of course, we’ll have a healthy smattering of our signature brands at their event prices, but we will also have lovely things for summer. Crocheted tights, thigh highs, OTKs, trouser socks, lightweight anklets and shorties, crews, midcalves, and pretty little fishnet socks.
Since we’re going to be celebrating ladies here in Oregon, we encourage you to celebrate the special lady or ladies in your life, wherever you may be. Call your mom, grandmother, sister or best long time girlfriend. Let your daughter, wife, partner or any other awesome lady in your life know that you appreciate them. We, of course, recommend Sock Dreams for all your appreciatory needs.
Have a great ladies weekend!!!
