Now, on to the Shipping Options page, which you’ll need to pay the most attention to!
Here’s a side-by-side example of where each field goes once it becomes a printed invoice:
They’ll also see anything you put in as an order note too!
We’ve passed the height of harvest season, which means good eats and warm treats, particularly on the most food-tastic holiday, Thanksgiving. I figured, in honour of the season, I’d serve you up a couple courses of food-themed socks.
I grew up with big family get-togethers for Thanksgiving. Everyone would bring stuff that had to be finished up or heated up, and while we waited we’d nosh on crackers and cheese. The Cheese Crews offer quite the array of nibbles.
Once it’s time to dig in, you make sure you get some veggies to balance things out. Sadly (or maybe not so sadly) we don’t have any socks that properly represent green bean casserole with fried onion straws on top. But we do have Ashi Dashi’s delicious Corn Crews. They’re corn on the cob, not the creamed corn you often see at holiday potlucks, but they’re just as deliciously delightful!
Of course, the big part of a Thanksgiving meal is the turkey. Although a lot of Sweet Marcel’s styles are made at an ethically-certified mill in Turkey, that’s about as close as we get to that distinctive bird. Our ham is a little rare (as in, still oinking), so we’ll throw tradition to the wind and tuck into some red meat.
Okay, you’re probably thinking, “that’s a pretty light spread for one of the biggest holiday meals of the year.” Well, that is because we wanted to make sure you had room for dessert!
The beauty of potluck holiday meals is that everybody brings a dessert. So. Do you want some cookies?
We hope you have a wonderful start to the winter holiday season!
Okay, I’m an adult, I know that meteor showers aren’t falling stars. But it’s such a prettier name! And a great excuse to look at socky, starry goodness. The Leonid metor shower is peaking either Saturday the 16th or Sunday the 17th (it looks like fair game for either right now), so let’s kick back and enjoy some stars that a full moon and cloud cover can’t foil!
Although you can search for Sparkly in Pattern & Texture, there isn’t a search value for stars right now because we often don’t have that many! But of course, you can always just take a gander with general search. Wow, our night sky is actually pretty full!
If those are too crazy (I mean, even though stars do have different colours depending on their temperatures), then the sedate Sheer Star Tights and the sparkly Snappy Star Garters might be more your speed.
Good luck watching the stars tomorrow night! And if you look hard enough, who knows what you might see. . .
The yellow of friendship in topaz (which actually comes in a surprising array of hues) and citrine are the gems for November. Visually, it’s almost impossible to tell cut topaz and citrine apart, but topaz is a bit harder in texture. Both stones are rather pale, and these pastel yellows definitely do the trick.
November’s flower is the chrysanthemum, which I am thankful to Spellcheck forever about. It’s another entry in the Asteraceae family, along with September and October’s flowers.Their complicated layers of petals mean it isn’t often represented on socks, but with a name that comes from “gold” and “flower” (the Greek “chrysos” and “anthemon”), I think we can do it justice with the Polonova Flower Trouser Socks and Polonova Floral Lace Trouser Socks.
Now, I’ve thought I’ve been in a tight spot before with these constellations, but I’m absolutely lost as to how to represent scorpio in socks! Maybe something with wide stripes to represent that segmented tail and basic arm warmers that have that thumb-hand separation that can look cool and claw-like? I don’t know, like the Dreamer Ruffle Striped OTK and the Space Dyed Long Perfect Arm Warmers?
Although, the more I think of it, the more I realise that the Leaf Pattern Fleece Arm Warmers encompass all those aspects in one go, the segmentation, the claw shape (with that pointed bit at the hand, even!). They’re also kind of perfect for the cold November weather.
Just one more month of birth symbols left! How the year is flying by (which I think is the motto of November, or at least should be!)
It’s cold outside, and a lot of us Dreamers have given up our razors for the winter (those of us who use them, anyway). Conveniently, this month is also the start of No-Shave-November “Noshember”, a fun challenge of setting down that razor and seeing what happens. Noshember is about folks “[uniting] in the height of laziness agreeing to not shave their beards or legs.”
And it’s not just about making things easier during one of the busiest times of year! The various No-Shave-November groups are also involved with charities, which is a great incentive for getting past those first painfully stubbly days.
If you’re focusing on the face and want to coordinate your socks with your new look (or if you can’t grow good face hair but want to have ‘stache solidarity), then we have some marvellous moustache options for you!
And larger feet can fit into the Mustache Tights too! Our be-stached knee high options (with and without argyle) only fit up to a US women’s shoe size 11 and men’s size 9, though (but they’re pretty perfect for smaller feet, perfectly fitting down to a US women’s size 6!).
Okay top halves covered, but what about options that won’t clash with incoming leg hair? Socks, especially our thick and cozy house brands, pretty much always do a great job covering leg hair, but what about if you want something dressier or nylon?
Our Opaque section offers styles in varying levels of opacity that all do a pretty solid job of hiding leg hair (though, from experience, any lighter colour over darker leg hair will never be perfect!). Bonus: most opaque styles are going to be warmer, which is perfect for all that incoming winter weather!
Probably everyone’s favourite legginga (and remember one of the differences between Leggings and Footless Tights is opacity) are the Thermo Fleece Lined Footless Tight (so cozy!), the Black Velvet Legging (so fancy!) and Nouvella’s Cotton Legging or Capri (the best basic!).
But what about tights—and something fancier, or more office-y? In solids, both the Color Tights and Opaque Tights are awesome and come in a million colours and the Erika Microfiber Tights are magic, because they’re the only microfiber cotton we’ve encountered. Seriously, they are the best.
And don’t think you’re stuck without stockings if you don’t want to shave, because there are plenty of thigh high options! The Lycra Cuban Heeled Two-Tone Stockings are a wonderful winter option to the traditional sheer Cuban heel, and the Solid Thigh High Stockings are just a great basic all around.
So do you stop shaving this time of year, for a cause or for yourself?
