November 11th, 2014
We’re just three weeks in to autumn, but we’re already preparing for the December holidays! Why? Because we’re offering free USPS First Class International Shipping until the end of November! This way our friends overseas can order holiday socks in time for them to travel and make it through customs, while enjoying the same free shipping that US residents enjoy all year round!
Of course, this means we’ve released our winter logo stickers early this year, for inclusion with holiday orders!
Our holiday logo lady is enjoying some hot cocoa while getting cozy in Peppermint Spiral Cotton OTKs to match the candy border, with Long Cuffable Leg Warmers layered over them for even more coziness!
Our winter logo sticker is sporting the same sock and legwarmer combo, only in different colors. She holds a snowglobe, and inside of that snowglobe is another logo lady, who is holding another snowglobe…. perhaps containing another logo lady?
To obtain a sticker of your very own, just leave an order note requesting either a holiday or winter logo sticker when you place your order!
It’s that time again Sock Dreams fans! Time for Dreamer Jen to pack up all the dreamiest socks and hit the road with her lovely assistant, Dreamer Rose, to spread the love of Sock Dreams. We have a very busy con season this year, and nearly ALL the cons we’re attending are out of our home state of Oregon.
To kick off this year’s events, we are attending Planet Comic Con, a comic and pop culture convention that takes place in Kansas City, MO on March 14-16. The main attraction of this event is a big Star Trek: The Next Generation reunion, at a special panel called Trek-Tacular! In honor of their appearance, we have made up some very specially themed stickers that will be available at booth #225.
After Planet Comic Con ends, we’re back for a week and then we’ll be heading up to Seattle, March 28th-30th, for our second year at Emerald City Comic Con. This year we’ll have a bigger booth, more socks, new con-exclusive stickers, AND potentially some new swag… We’ve also been working directly with the creators of ECCC to get them special Emerald City logo socks, which they will be selling at their merch booth. Stop by booth #202 and check us out!
There will be a bunch more events coming up through the rest of spring and into summer. If you live in Kansas City or Seattle, stop by and see us! If you know about a convention in your area that you’d like to see us at, let us know!
We’ve got a new sticker for you, just in time for your Mardi Gras orders! Our lovely logo lady is decked out in her Fat Tuesday finest, with mask, feathers, beads and Green Knees. To receive a sticker in your next order, write “I would like a Mardi Gras sticker please” in your Order Notes.
This weekend Dreamer Jen is bringing a curated selection of only our most fabulously geeky socks for Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo in LA! Folks attending the Expo can stop by booth number 1516 to check out the selection, and even get a Sock Dreams giftcard while supplies last – just ask nicely!
Even if you don’t make it in time to get a giftcard, you can still pick up one of our special edition super hero logo stickers, lovingly designed by Dreamer Zaffie. We’ve also got a very limited number here at our headquarters, so if you can’t make the Expo, you can still get one with your online order if you act quickly! Just leave an order note requesting a sticker, and tell us who your favorite super hero is!
We wish you all a SUPER weekend, and look forward to seeing your faces in LA!
This weekend, September 21st and 22nd, Sock Dreams will be vending at Portland’s own Rose City Comic Con. Now in it’s second year, Rose City, or as it affectionately know as RCCC, will feature several amazing celebrity guests- Jewel Staite from Firefly, Avery Brooks from Deep Space Nine, Lee Arenberg and Martin Klebba from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies AND Mr. John “Bender” and “Jake the Dog” DiMaggio.
But of all the celebrity guests, comic artists and exhibitors, we are most excited about one guest in particular; the creator of the Sock Dreams logo, Echo X Chernik !
Niqkita was first made aware of Echo’s work through the Sock Dreams web designer Olivia, who knew Niqkita’s affinity for Alphonse Mucha and that she was looking for someone to design a logo for the fledgling company. Niqkita contacted Echo and they began emailing back and forth discussing what Niqkita had in mind for the logo and how it would fit into her business. Before she knew it, the logo lady was created.
The intention with the logo was always that her socks could be changed, but in the past couple years we’ve been radical about our changes, creating seasonal and event specific stickers and the word is, Echo loves it!
Come by our booth at RCCC, #720 to grab one of our Rose City Comic Con logo lady stickers, and then head to Echo’s booth #903 to get it signed.
We’ll also be giving away a pair of our con exclusive RCCC socks, made by Gumball Poodle, so if you’re at the Con this weekend check our Facebook page for more details.
See ya there!
